The Tiger 12 Hovercraft offers a fast and flexible solution to a wind farm’s maintenance contract. The hovercraft assists in maintenance contracts by transporting personnel, tools and equipment. The hovercraft can directly access and place cargo and personnel on any structure in safety at any height of tide. The speed of the hovercraft means fast response times.
Recently used as a rescue craft to allow work to be completed on the civil engineering construction of Gunfleet Sands windfarm. The hovercraft was based on Clacton beach, the closest place to the windfarm drying areas. This provided the compliance with health and safety requirements to allow work to continue in the knowledge that they could be rescued in case of emergency.
With the ability to access the site within minutes, the hovercraft provided the ideal solution for the movement of workers when no other vessel could access the drying areas. This allowed diving work to be completed at low water, in the greatest safety, saving time and money.
The hovercraft was available around the clock, and provided a 100% reliablilty record being available at all times. The craft went up to 5 miles out to sea, giving valuable assistance to the project.
Access to the windfarm was made easy by the ability of the craft to lock on tightly and movement was aided by the platform and handholds.
